Keeping busy
Posted: Apr 16, 2008 - 01:24:46
I've been so busy the past few weeks. I've been meeting lots of very nice people (including a wonderful girl to whom I've become quite attached) who have shown me a great deal of things over the past month or so. This was actually the first evening that I was alone since last week. Normally that would be entirely exhausting for me, but I'm just having too much fun. I was up in SF on Sunday, did some shopping in SOMA.
I've been working on host specific bugs at work. That's been kinda frustrating as it's been small, non-obvious things that are broken. Though, I'm now moving on to working on things that I'm sure are problems in our code rather that someone else's. This is actually a good thing as it means that I'll actually be able to fix things.

Who is Etha?
Posted: Mar 27, 2008 - 23:40:41
And why am I getting her spam email? Of the 150 or so daily spam messages I get, a surprisingly large number are directed at this mystery person who goes by Etha. Did Etha have some strange anonymous vendetta against me and thus decide that she needed to sign me up for a bunch of "mailing lists". Am I the target of some strange plot. Or are spammers really that idiotic. I'm going to go with the spammers being idiots. That is my anti-spammer rant for the day. Enjoy.

I'm not dead

I know, I've been horribly neglecting this site.
The bay has been really nice the past few days. It's been in the mid-high sixties (a number which still means very little to me) all week, and sunny... well, except for Thursday, but we won't talk about Thursday.
I'm slowly working on a new site that will become my more artsy-side focused page and this page will eventually become more of my personal site. Long story short my artistic photos will end up on the other site, my day to day life stuff here. Complex I know, but such is the way of things. You can see my current progress on the new site at angrywaffle.net. It doesn't do much yet (its still technically a static page with some javascript) but the layout is set. I might change some minor things with it, we shall see. I've got a fair bit of back end code to write as I want to get rid of my crufty code that I've slowly been updating over the years. I'm definitely planning to go more object oriented and make more use of caching. Perhaps a normal visit won't even hit the database at all. We shall see.

Wheels, Part Deux
Posted: Dec 20, 2007 - 23:57:40
... WOW. So I'm a convert. I've had a huge smile on my face since about 2:35 this afternoon when I got the keys to my new car. Its an '03 Eclipse GTS. All leather interior, 5 speed, V6. It makes the most wonderful noises at the top end of the RPM range and its VERY zippy. I've got no complaints what so ever.

I get my wheels tomorrow. I'm picking up a 2003 Eclipse. Should be a fun little ride.
