No, I'm not building something on which to cook waffles. Waffleiron is the hostname of my new media server. I'm waiting for mdraid to build a redundant stripe set right now. Total hard drive space is 1.1TB with 600GB exposed as a redundant set across 3 drives. It should make a good place to dump all my photos. The machine itself is a low-power AMD X2 with 2GB of RAM running openSuse 10.3, x64. Networking was reasonably easy to get going and sound works pretty much right out of the box. I'm reasonably impressed.
